Aviva Reed is an interdisciplinary visual ecologist.

A visual ecologist communicates through visualising ecology - the ecologies of nature, humans and our place in the Earth; the ecosphere.

Aviva works as an artist, consultant, educator and scientist. Her practice explores scientific theories from philosophical and ontological perspectives, seeking to unravel perceived truths and invisible realities that shape our modern age.

Her work aims to explore time and scale in relation to one's self and ecology. Aviva uses installation, mini lecture series, storytelling and visual aids to communicate complex scientific ideas and evoke an ecological imagination.

Aviva has completed numerous bodies of work using many forms including drawings, paintings, mixed media, community development, performance and installation.

She has taught within numerous academic institutes, business sectors and educational settings. She is chief illustrator for Small Friends Books and creative director of interdisciplinary experts, Biotic Potential.
