Artist/ Scientist in Residence
Aviva has facilitated numerous art/ science in residences.
Aviva Reed is an award winning illustrator, artist & scientist who works closely with schools to explore complex ecology through the arts. She uses collaborative co- creation techniques alongside scientific storytelling to create rich pedagological experiences.
This unique creative process creates memorable moments in the students' lives. Through actively engaging educational experiences, educators can deepen that retention by letting students work with the information to create art that has meaning to them.
Bringing in a professional artist to teach their creative process provides in-school, hands-on, professional development opportunities, offering teachers unique educational approaches that they can add to their tool box.
whole school residencies
An artist in residence may facilitate one class, many classes or the whole school, into a wonderful shared experience enhancing the school as community.
“Aviva’s passion for the artistic process is infectious. Her knowledge of ecology is inspiring to students because she helps them understand the relevance of the subject matter in relation to themselves and the wider world” Mrs Michelle McKay Head of Visual Arts, Aitken College
