ECOLOGY 101

1st August- 10-1pm AEST $60.00

Ecology 101 offers an interactive online course that combines ecological science with humanities and philosophy, through conversation, creative expression, storytelling, mapping, drawing, reflective practice, and collaborative inquiry.

By the end of the course participants will:

• Understand ecological vocabulary

• Describe how energy moves through ecosystems

• Develop systems-thinking skills through creative practice

TEACHING ECOLOGICAL SCIENCE THROUGH ART

29th August 10-1pm AEST $60

An experiential online course that uses the Aviva Reed Creative Practice as a pathway into ecological literacy. Blending scientific inquiry with artistic exploration, participants learn to observe, interpret, and communicate ecological relationships through art practices. Art is not simply a way to represent nature, it is a way of entering into relationship with it. Through creative practice, participants develop ecological perception: the ability to notice patterns, relationships, processes, and living systems that are often overlooked.

Using ecological science as content and artistic practice as methodology, learners discover how creativity can become a tool for systems thinking, ecological understanding, and environmental stewardship. There is a focus on Environmental Education, Interdisciplinary and Sustainability education with this course.

No previous science or artistic experience is required.

ECOLOGY 101- GO DEEPER

5th August- 6-8pm | 12th August 6-8pm AEST $100

Once Ecology 101- Intro is completed- we can delve deeper into two more sessions with reading materials and follow up tasks.

By the end of this course you will:

• Understand the core principles of ecology

• Speak confidently about ecosystems and ecological relationships

• Apply systems thinking to environmental and social challenges

• Use creative and conversational tools to deepen ecological understanding

TRANSFORMING CARBON

8th August- 10-1pm AEST $60

Transforming Carbon is an immersive online course that explores carbon through an animate lens- seeing Earth not as a collection of resources, but as a living community of relationships.

This course invites learners to ask:

• Who is carbon?

• What is carbon's role in the living world?

• How does carbon move through ecosystems?

• What happens when these relationships are disrupted?

• How can humans participate in regenerative carbon futures?
